Amazing results on the "When did you get into the sneakerhead game?" poll. Majority became sneakerheads in 2005-2006 and a good percentage in the late 1990s as well. The way we see it, in the past couple years, Nike has released more limited editions than ever before. Along with the media, movies/shows, and celebrities highly covetting it all (Hell, did anyone just see Entourage with Turtle and Vince on the hunt for a limited edition Air Force 1?). Then in 1995-1999, Nike History basketball sneakers were huge (and still are for those original history lovers!). We had Pippen, Barkeley, Kidd, Penny, you name it. We were invited to be a vendor at a certain sneaker event recently and during the phone call, he asked, "How did you (Extra Laces) get into this?" Basically saying, how did we start up. Simply said it started out as a hobby in 2002 with eBay and grew from there. Every business and sneakerhead starts out small some day whether it was yesterday or 10 years ago. With crazy limited exclusive kicks coming out all the time in 24-of-a-kinds to 1000 made, the media and press releases covetting these sneakers (Even the general public outside of the sneakerhead scene including Time Magazine, ESPN, New York Magazine, etc), Sneaker forums/websites/bloggers/stores expanding on a daily basis, celebrities rocking hot kicks, more and more people (men AND women) catch on to this hype... we just call this madness. The game isn't the same, is it? The answer: nope. We've been hearing and reading stories about how the camp out lines are increasing during each drop. Take the recent Stash release for instance. Some were in line on Wednesday at Niketown NYC, 3 days prior to the drop, to the point where the police had to insist that they leave and come back. Just 3-4 years ago, people easily walked into stores like Stussy and picked up Nike Splatter Dunk Premiums, Nike Shady Air Bursts (and the rest of the artist series), and Adidas Jam Master Jay Ultra Stars. No lines, no hassle, just walk in and walk out. Sneaker shops even used to do chargesends (Keyword: used to). In the past couple years, camping out meant waiting in line the night before. Now it's literally camping out. People bring tents. REAL camping tents! Now here's a question for the readers:
